I understand your reaction: āWhat kind of title is this?ā But it resonates well with the 90ās dot-com bubble, when every company was adding ā.comā to their name to increase their valuation. This is what Iām observing with blogging today. Each day, thousands join the blogging world, hoping to get paid, inspired by the success stories of established writers. Predictably, they face a dead end once their initial blog ideas run dry.
At this point, the so-called āmastersā appear, writing about how to write a blog. They tell these aspiring bloggers why their blogs arenāt growing, what mistakes are blocking their success, or some mantra to make their blog hit. I mean, was this the purpose of writing a blog ā to tell other bloggers how to write a blog? I came here for thought-provoking ideas, and some food for my brain, but guess what Iām reading here?
Where is content?
Imagine going to a theatre expecting to witness a classic novel unfolding, only to find out that they start discussing how to be a good actor, telling you the doās and donāts of good acting. This trend is pervasive on social media, microblogging, and any video-sharing portal. Iām writing this from firsthand experience, seeing a whole nexus working to sell schemes to make you a hit in the field. Thereās a huge dearth of genuine work that readers like me are continually searching for. Chasing down the SEO tactics, trying hard to ride the trend end up only with phony content. The world has already gone insane in the era of cheap insane except the writing. This is one thing that never gets old.
If not you then i will
I canāt sit idle while someone needs to take a stand, raising a voice that comes from within, not just a fashionable thing to propagate for views and likes. I donāt know who needs to hear this, but let me tell you, humans today carry a ton of mental load. Everyone is self-doubting and looking for validation, so insecure that theyāve forgotten their true selves and become mannequins ā perfect in appearance but not alive at all. Writing is a tool to know yourself better, not to appear as a master. Iām also trying to dig deep inside myself, who knows what I might find and may act as a catalyst for someone else too. I think staying to the very first motive as why one had started to write must reflect in each blog. It’s good to share genuine facts with the intention of leaving imprints for others to follow.
A call to authenticity
I recently have found my passion in writing, i am a budding writer. I am writing for the sake of writing as you can sense in my writing style. But i am proud in sharing what i feel. Even if i try to mimic others it doesnāt go well with me. I have agreed to be vulnerable. This is the only way to learn. I just canāt bear the idea of writing what algorithm appealing or some other similar jargon. This isnāt easy, take this blog itself three days so many edits (though not perfect, i know) but i am learning this way. Every roadblock i face forces me to research here and there, this evolves my thinking. I am on a journey and i am happy with it. Something which i want to address to fellow bloggers (budding & pro) let us focus on writing instead of focusing on what to write & how to.
